I was introduced to CMIE publications in 1994 during my first job in investment banking / research house. Since then I have never looked for any other source of authentic data on the Indian economy. The CMIE team has always been helpful providing inputs on critical items as well or directing to the source. What more can I say when the data points of CMIE are quoted in IMF’s “World Economic Outlook”. Our MNC organization relies on the data available in Economic Outlook for planning purposes. All in all CMIE’s Economic Outlook is an excellent web tool to access critical aspects of Indian Economy.
I have been using CMIE’s Economic Outlook service for nearly two decades, including the web version of Economic Outlook over the past 10 years. Over the years, the service has become robust covering a wide range of subjects including India’s economic indicators, corporate and sectoral data, and useful series from the finance, currency, fixed income, and equity markets. Hence, Economic Outlook has become an essential support for rigorous research. I also like their useful commentaries and updates on topical themes.

I am a regular user of CMIE’s Economic Outlook service. It is comprehensive, accurate and effortless to use. I am on top of the current economic situation of the country only because of Economic Outlook. I have used the service for nearly all of my research on the Indian economy. My recent book on India’s Macroeconomic Performance Since the Global Financial Crisis uses data and analysis from Economic Outlook extensively. Now, with information on employment from CMIE’s own household survey, it gives me great confidence in my quick analyses of the trends in the macroeconomy.
I just wanted to applaud CMIE and tell you that Economic Outlook is simply great! Probably one of the best tools to know deep stuff about the Indian Economy and what is happening surrounding it. It has a good mix of thought-provoking articles and recently published data on relevant economic KPIs.
